What I write starts with something I hear or see or feel. My senses cause me to write. Sometimes it's an idea from another blog, sometimes it's the sunshine or the rain. Sometimes it's a family situation. I just write.
I ponder the lead sentence, which sets the stage for the rest. It can take me awhile to write it down, but then the rest just comes... I also edit it once or twice when it's all down on "paper." :-)
You know, sometimes when I'm working on a story I write the ending first. Sometimes it stays the same and other times it changes. At least I have a dirction.
Like Pat and DJan the first word or sentence gets me going....
Pat and DJan are both naturally good writers...like most bloggers.
Sometimes I look at a picture 'til an idea sparks. Other times, ideas come from nowhere and everywhere. Then there are the times when there are no ideas and I must rest with the silence.
I started writing in 2005 at the suggestion of my best friend who read a paragraph I wrote and she told me there was something there. Since that moment I have not stopped, it is odd how it came to me out of the blue and took on a life if its own. I always tell people I am a muser. Not a user, but a muser. Everything,and everyone are my muses. People, strangers, animals, the wind, the rain, if it touches me I muse off of it. Now, I love poetry and writing just as much as dance, my first passion and love in life. I am an artist, I live to create.

Usually just one word and then I just go all absurd, which is such fun to do. Sometimes I give a moral or some sort of wisdom though too.

When I'm reading poems, they quite often begin in obfuscation and end in ambiguity. Am I reading the wrong poets?
