Writing from Our Hearts

One of the very easiest things to do is to write from our hearts. When we write about what we know, love, or even hate the words just flow. This is true for kids and adults.

I had the pleasure of doing another school visit last week. I walked into the classroom and was greeted with "Happy Birthday Jan Mader!" What a treat! It turned an ordinary birthday into a very special day...in more ways than one. When I was talking to the kids, I was reminded once again, that what is in our hearts and souls is often more important than what's in our minds. I'll share some of that with you later this week.

For now, let's get started with two writing prompts:

The thing I like the most about Thanksgiving is:
The thing I like the least about Thanksgiving is:

The thing I like the least about Thanksgiving is feeling angry at something someone has said or done that drains some of the joy from the day.

We don't have Thanksgiving - and I feel left out... Hope you have a great time.

And belated happy birthday - it sounds like you had a fab day.

The thing I like most about Thanksgiving is cooking this wonderful meal. The colors on the table, it is the most beautiful sight and what great leftovers.

The thing I like least about Thanksgiving is that our families are spread out and we haven't had one together for many years and that makes me a little sad.

The thing I like most about Thanksgiving is going back to my hometown, and having my mother-in-law embrace some of my family members into her holidays celebration.

The thing I like least about Thanksgiving is dealing with different personalities assembled in one place. But isn't that how it always is at holiday gatherings?

The thing I like most abut Thanksgiving is being with family. I like all of the food. I like the memories of past Thanksgivings. And lastly, I like the anticipation of the day after sales.

The thing I like least about Thanksgiving is cleaning up the kitchen after all the cooking. And this year my dishwasher is not working.
