Recalling New Details!

Believe it or not, every single day we see, hear, taste, or touch something new without even noticing. Our senses are amazing. Our mind's eye records the new happening and it's up to us to recall the details.

Right now take a minute to think about today and yesterday. What did your nose smell? What did your ears hear? What did your mouth taste? What did you feel...physically or emotionally?

Wake up your mind's eye. What did you notice in the past couple days that you really hadn't noticed before?

As much as I hate to admit this, I must. I noticed that when I pop my chewing gum, I do it by sucking in and creating a loud kaboom. Why did I notice this? Because my sister pops her gum too. She was chewing gum and popping it when I didn't have any gum in my mouth. When she asked me how I popped my gum, I couldn't answer her. I had done it all my life and couldn't remember how I did it. Of course, I have to quickly get some gum and find out the answer.

Now when I write my best selling novel my character can annoy those around her by slowly stretching her gum over her tongue and sucking steadily backwards.

Last night I had a meeting at a local coffee shop and decided to try something new - the Java Chip Blended Coffee. Before taking the first sip, my mind had already determined how this new drink would taste. Unfortunately for my taste buds, it tasted nothing like my mind thought it would. Several drinks later, however, my tongue adjusted to the new flavor and my mind decided that it was good!

The Java Chip Blended Coffee has a subtle mocha/coffee flavor that is intended for the light coffee drinker. :)

I bit into a piece of watermelon today and I remembered how good it taste. After the season comes and goes, that is one fruit that I always forget how it taste.

I smelled the earth.
as mother nature stretches
in the rain
I smelled the weeds-
to me they are sweet
I felt warm rain-
trickle dowh my cheeks
it was shocking
and felt comforting.

I wanted something different to drink at my local coffee shop and asked for a REAL caramel macchiato, and it was wonderful! Nothing like Starbucks.

Hum...I chew gum all the time; but I don't think I pop it. Partially I think because I chew it at work, where I speak in front of group after group and have gotten used to chewing without popping?

What did I smell yesterday? A flower I couldn't identify on my way home from work. It was fabulous and I wish I knew what it was. I might have noticed it because I wasn't driving so my mind was thinking differently?

The last couple of days it's smelt of Autumn around here!! Yeah I know, it's not even really summer yet, but we've been so long without rain that when it finally did, everything had that lovely fresh moist smell.

Today I smelt lavender for an hour as I was having a wonderful massage - my nose was scrunged down the hole in the bench where the masseuse had kindly put some on a tissue :>)

I was walking out along the road today and smelled the wild roses that have recently started to bloom. They are such an undescribable sweet smell that there is no mistaking that particular scent. Today I also noticed that blackberries still being formed have a scent. Their scent made my mouth ready for some blackberry jam.
P.S. The boy has not yet returned home.

I make it a practice to delete all comments that are in a foreign language, suggest you do the same. I've read more times than I can count how they are spam, and often contain viruses etc.

Making blog rounds, still seeing the words on both sides of your blog this picture, can't read more than that but assume it says no longer available or something along those lines. Sometimes when people make a template they have the photo's or graphics hosted somewhere else and run out of bandwidth and then the photo and or graphic doesn't show up. Wish I knew how to get rid of that for you. May after vac, we'll look around a bit more for another template? I like this, but it's not as cool as animal talk.
