Use Your Senses to Show Your Favorite Time of Day!

The smell of my coffee brewing alerted me to the start of a new day. The sunshine was just beginning to peek through my half-opened bedroom curtains offering promises of great things to come. I rubbed my sleepy eyes and threw on my cozy robe to trudge downstairs. My two dogs followed me (like shadows at my heels) and I cracked the backdoor to let them go out and come back in at their leisure. By the time I flung open my kitchen windows I was as awake as the birds that were singing in harmony from the treetops. I watched three deer peacefully nibbling on grass and clover in the field behind my house and realized that without a doubt, early morning is my favorite time of day.
YOUR TURN! What is your favorite time of day?

hum...not sure I ever thought about what time of time was my favorite before. I do know it's not morning. lol

I have the coffee pot on an alarm thing for M-F, but we usually don't do it that way on the wkend. So, somedays I do smell it which is nice.

I heat my neck pillow thingy, get more coffee and head straight to the computer while I try to wake up, and work out the kinks in my body.

Favorite time of day....happy hour? When hubster comes home and we sit on the deck enjoy a glass of adult beverage, look and enjoy the yard, watch Jake swing and jabber I think; as we chat about the days events and bring each other up to date.

My favourite time of the day, as a mother, is the very end of the day, when the work is over, kids asleep and there is a little time to catch up on doing things just for me. Although it's as black as pitch outside, I love to make use of modern luxuries like electric light - of course, candlelight is inviting, but only sometimes. I love to drink tea or enjoy some hot chocolate and catch up on my favourite blogs on my laptop while my husband watches television. It is a great feeling to be able to enjoy the internet without someone calling my name again because they need to have some work done. The problem is, that for the last three weeks we've had illness in the family and one child doing exams so that peaceful feeling has been absent. Anyway, we'll get there again....

Early morning is when I'm ignited to write . . . later in the day, I crash and burn.

The morning dew tickles at my bare feet as I step outside to greet the birds. The birds answer with a merry good morning. The sun trickles through the woods, it's rays not full strength yet, a soft gentle yellow shines upon the green of the leaves.
My coffee cools as I wander around the yard looking to see what might be new since the day before. Are the blackberries more ripe? Are more trees showing their fall color?
On mornings like this I don't mind the cold coffee at all.

I am a night owl. I love watching the sun go down. With that I find the peace of the day finally setting in. I light candles in the kitchen after I have it cleaned up from supper. On Sunday, it is always family night. Even though our daughter is 23, she stays home and we watch old movies and sometimes play games. Everyone is relaxed, popcorn is a must of course. The smell of the popped corn and the candle scents blend into the air. We are at peace and the world is a very good place always at night.

I love to watch the evening shadows that spread across the yard. When I look outside and see the shadows, I know mom will be home soon. It is in the early evening, the grass becomes warm and dry. My mom and I will go outside and play. As the sun starts to set, it seems the whole earth changes colors. We love to watch the magic happening. It feels like someone has taken a magic brush and is painting different shades of color on the sky and trees, and everything we see.
Maybe someday I will like mornings, but that has not happened to me yet.

I think your nights sound pretty special Tweedles.

The sun has set and the moon sits high in the dark sky. Its soft light filters through the windows adding a touch of light to the room. The rest of the house is soundly sleeping, a gentle snore or the cat's purr is barely heard.

My world is still and this time belongs to my imagination alone. I allow my mind to enjoy the quiet moments of the midnight hour.

Wow. That was beautiful!

So far it seems we like early morning, evening, or night.

Does anyone like 3:00 or 4:00....or even noon?

Enjoyed reading the descriptive times of time, seems the polls have it, beginning and end. I'm not very discriptive...though I enjoy reading how pretty some of you make the words sound.

Ok I'll take the afternoon shift! My favourite time is my afternoon cup of tea at about 3 p.m. It's the in-between time, a hiatus, the time of reflection and peace and fantasy and fun. I inhabit my world then, a world of infinite nothings. It's respite, it's restful, it's restoration.

Right now, my favorite time of the day is whenever I get a chance to walk into the puppies' room and see their rolly-poly little bodies either sprawled out on their backs, their little paws waving in the air as they dream, or trying to learn to run, bouncing along, and tripping to sprawl for a second before bouncing up to try again.

I love to hear their little barks, feel their fuzzy, warm little bodies snuggle into my arms when I pick them up, and sniff the wonderful fragrance of clean, happy puppy.
