Let's Change it Up Writing Prompt!

This is always so much fun. I love changing traditional stories to make them my own...one way or another. Did you know that when a story is out of public domain (I believe that's 30 years after its last print) you can rewrite it however you like? You can!

Kids have as much fun altering stories as we do, so if you have kids or if you're a teacher, give them a shot at finishing this sentence that belongs in The Night Before Christmas:

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that......

Have fun with this Christmas writing activity! I can only imagine what you'll come up with!

The stocking were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that it was Christmas and not Easter. The bunny wouldn't know what do do with the stockings.

I'm not sure I can use this...they're so hyped this week anyway! We're working our "tailfeathers" off to get to where I want by Friday, when the rest of the college kids arrive home!

How about, "The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, leaving Mama with only 982 other things to do this evening!"

Oooh, this is terrific, Jan. I'm going to get my daughter to finish this sentence in the morning.

Love the idea of Paul Newman, my thoughts we that they were dry in the morning like Carolyn.

The stocking were hung by the chimney with care, because there was no room left to throw them on the chair.
