I loved all the responses to our last writing activity. I know it was difficult, but it was thought provoking for sure.
I promised you an easy writing activity today. Easy and useful for future writing!
Let's make a list of all the sounds we can think of...like MOO...that's a sound! This is one of those activites that can go on and on. We'll have all kinds of sounds to use in our own future writing!
Are you ready? Let's do it. We can even do it alphabetically if you want. Of course, as I say that, I'm sitting here trying to think of a sound that begins with the letter A.
Oh! I've got an A sound....Ahhhhh chooooo!
Your turn! Let's make a list of sounds that's a mile long!

I tried to put a response in for your last post, but there must have been something wrong with my connection. Couldn't do it. So I'm sure everyone will have fun with this one: onomatopoeia words I can think of:
sizzle
bob-WHITE (bird call)
chickadee (also bird call)
zziipp!
cackle
That's just off the top of my head...
My 3-year old's favorite word right now is
Wooo Wooo
as in the sound of a siren on a fire truck. (Daddy's a fire fighter.)
I'm not even sure how to spell that one!
Valerie
So we're at D?
Blank...all I can think of is Ding Dong The Witch is Dead, the wicked witch....no clue why that's in my brain.
There's a DooDoo Bird...do they make a D noise?
My wine glass is empty, my legs are throbing, right knee is swollen...long day at work. Must go sit elsewhere where I can get my legs and feet elevated.
Good luck folks with noises in alpha order.
Sandy
drip
pop, pop, pop of popcorn
clunk, whirr, ding of a dryer
ding dong of a doorbell
thump
bing
thud
tick tock
hmmmm
vroom vroom (the sound a toy truck makes?)
oink
honk
hiss
yip
yap
snarl
(so much for alphabetical!!! lol)
I'm lost now! What letter are we on? Oh never mind! I have two cats so my sounds would be:
Purr purr purrrr
Meeeeoooow.
Oh and the other day as we were walking to school in the snow my five year old daughter commented that the noise of her boots in the snow sounded like a cat purring - which I thought was very perceptive, given her age!

Everything is right here and nothing is wrong! I love the list we're coming up with. I do like Faith's idea! Maybe on Friday we'll do rhyming words for another list!
